Driftbloom is the trading name of GLOBAL TECH BFD LTD (Company No. 15445491), registered at 21 Daisy Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 3PL, United Kingdom, directed by Imran Tariq. As the UK importer of the products we sell, we are responsible for their safety and compliance. This page sets out the safety information you should read before using any Driftbloom product. If you have any doubt about safe use, contact us at hello@driftbloom.co.uk before using the product.
1. Magnet safety — read first
Levitation products contain strong permanent magnets and electromagnets. Strong magnetic fields can interfere with implanted medical devices.
- Pacemakers and implanted medical devices: if you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, insulin pump or similar device, keep the product at least 30 cm away from the implant at all times, and consult your doctor before using it. If in doubt, do not use the product.
- Bank cards and magnetic media: keep credit and debit cards, travel cards, hard drives and other magnetic media away from the levitation base.
- Watches and electronics: mechanical watches, compasses and some electronic devices can be affected by close contact with the base.
- Children: this is not a toy. Keep the product away from young children. Swallowed magnets are a medical emergency — if you suspect a magnet has been swallowed, seek medical help immediately.
2. Electrical safety
- Use only the power adapter supplied with the product. Using a different adapter may damage the product or create a safety risk.
- The product is designed for indoor, dry locations only. Do not use it in bathrooms, outdoors, or anywhere it may come into contact with water. When watering a plant in the levitating planter, remove the planter from above the base first and wipe away any spills before replacing it.
- Place the base on a flat, stable, non-metallic surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Do not open, modify or attempt to repair the base or adapter. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Unplug the product before cleaning. Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth only.
- If the product, cable or adapter is visibly damaged, stop using it immediately and contact us.
3. Setting up levitation safely
When placing the levitating element above the base, hold it with both hands and lower it slowly toward the centre of the base until you feel it supported by the magnetic field, then release gently. If it snaps down onto the base, no harm is done — lift it and try again. Keep fingers clear of the gap between a falling element and the base.
4. Regulatory compliance
As the UK importer of the products we sell, we are responsible under the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 for the safety and compliance of those products, including conformity marking and supporting technical documentation, and for ensuring our company name and UK address accompany the product packaging. For electrical waste and recycling obligations, see our WEEE & Recycling Information page.
5. Reporting a safety concern
If you believe a product you bought from us has a safety defect, stop using it and contact us at hello@driftbloom.co.uk or +44 7446765677. We take safety reports seriously and will respond promptly.
